The talking wall

There’s a wall like this in every house, sometimes there are even several walls that talk and correspond with each other, you just have to lean in and listen.

How can you actually identify such a wall and make it speak; you ask?

Usually, this wall will be in a central place, with a presence, and it will be noticeable from any direction.

Sometimes it will be the wall opposite the entrance door, and sometimes it is a narrow wall that separates spaces or the blank wall behind the sofa that we all know.

What is certain is that after it receives design treatment, it will be impossible to ignore it and it will add a touch to the house that will upgrade the entire atmosphere.

After we have chosen our talking wall, all that remains is for us to decide how to treat it.

There are several options, it depends on the design style of the house and the color that serves as a recurring motif.

Here are some good examples of a talking wall.

  1. In a country-style house, a brick wall will always be welcome. The wall can be upgraded with lighting, a console table, a mirror and complementary items that will enrich the wall, as in this example.

  2. Usually, the house has a prominent color that will serve as a recurring motif and appear in different ways in several places in the house: in lighting, wall color, Armchairs, pillows, and more. In the house in front of you, the guiding color was yellow, but it was natural for me that this color would appear on the talking wall. The chosen wall will be a dominant wall in a space covered in gorgeous wallpaper. We matched the wall with a console table and a mirror, and there is no doubt that today this wall simply cannot be ignored.

Painting a wall in a central space is a cheap and practical solution that can easily make any wall pop and be more interesting.

Here I chose to paint the living room wall in a fresh turquoise shade and continued the color to the hallway that leads to the rooms.

On the wall above the sofa, I added a play of frames of different sizes, and here you have another talking wall that matches the new color scheme of the house perfectly.

As you may have noticed, finding the talking wall in your home is your mission!

I usually walk around the house and look at the walls each time from a different angle, and that’s how I carefully choose the talking walls that will add interest and upgrade the design of the space.

After you find the talking wall, think carefully about how it will affect the space and what you should do with it.

Is it paint, wallpaper, glitter, a picture frame wall, and more.

Good luck!
