The Brilliant brick

In the past, it was customary to cover the walls enveloping the house or a perimeter wall with bricks.

Bricks give the house an ancient and unique look with a scent of classical Europe, today, bricks are integrated into the interior walls of the house, over time, bricks entered the living room of the house, upgrading walls and adding warmth that only real brick can give. We can say that its time has passed, that it is a passing trend, but brick remains as a winning covering that provides added value to the house that no wallpaper can match, and it is here to stay.

Bricks come in a variety of sizes and shades. Natural-looking stone, decomposed stone, natural/unnatural stone, limestone and more.

The combination of bricks in the living room is a common and special combination, as it allows you to upgrade the appearance of the living room with great simplicity and ease.

The bricks for the living room or any important wall that you want to embellish and emphasize in the space of your home, using appropriate lighting that will significantly upgrade its presence.

Where could you use brick coverings in the house?

Every house has its own walls, a wall next to the dining area, a central wall in the living room or the wall at the entrance.

You can choose one or two walls in the living room and cover them with bricks. You can choose the color of the bricks according to the colors of the house. If the flooring is gray and the colors of the sofa are gray, it is advisable to choose bricks in the house’s shades, in a more grayish shade. If the house has a more rustic look, cream flooring and warmer colors, you can choose a brick in a reddish-brown shade. There are of course the bricks in a white shade. They are intended for those people who want to make a design element with bricks but that will not steal too much focus in the house.

Recently I have been using limestone in various projects. Its price is relatively cheap and affordable. You can get it at an attractive price ranging from 150-300 NIS per square meter. It is an easy-to-apply stone, comes in several sizes, is easy to work with, and comes in various shades that suit any design style.

Limestone has become very popular in recent years. Limestone is a type of limestone rock formed along stream channels, mainly in places where there are waterfalls and cold or hot springs. Calcium carbonate accumulates in places where the water evaporates, leaving behind a particularly saturated solution of calcite components. Limestone is quarried mainly from the mountains of Turkey, Italy, and Jordan.

By its very nature, limestone is characterized by veins and pores. The pores can be filled with a special marble adhesive specially adapted to the tile, and by gently polishing it back to its natural state without the pores.

Advantages – Limestone gives the house luxury, wealth, a natural and elegant appearance. Limestone comes in a wide variety of colors, such as: beige, Yellow, gray, pink and brown. Limestone rock can be processed in many ways and comes in a wide variety of sizes, so there is no problem covering any space in a house with it – stairs, flooring and interior and exterior wall coverings and tiles.

The maintenance of the stone is relatively simple, but it is worth remembering that pores on the surface accumulate dirt, so it is recommended to sweep the stone before washing it with water. It is always best to clean marble and natural stone without aggressive cleaning agents. A bucket of water and half a cup of fabric softener for a pleasant scent will do the job.

Stone coverings for home design

There are several methods for laying tiles on walls by gluing or by construction. Most thin natural stones are applied by gluing to the wall. Bricks in blocks 5 cm thick and above are applied by construction. Bricks 3 cm thick and below can be laid by gluing. So, the application depends very much on the thickness of the tile and the construction method of the cladding professional.

The first row forms the foundation for the entire wall. Its accuracy is very important and is based on the entire cladding application so that the wall looks straight. Use a level to check that the laying of the stones or bricks is straight. When cladding bricks with joints, spacers are placed both between bricks and between rows.

The next row should start with tiles or a tile that has been cut in half. You can cut with a manual cutting disc or a table water saw.

After you have chosen your favorite bricks, it is advisable to take between 10-15 percent less than the net measured quantity of the wall, thus saving unnecessary runs to complete additions to the order following the cuts.

There is no doubt that brick combination is a brilliant idea.
