Now it’s the bathroom’s turn, a room that can be boring and marginal in the house or a decorated place that is pleasant to enter.
When designing bathrooms, people tend to compromise and not dwell too much on design. Although it is not a central area of the house, like the living room or the kitchen, it is no less important, and it also needs attention and design thought.
As in home design, bathrooms can be designed in accordance with several different styles.
I will give my main tip first: it would be best to design the bathroom in a classic design that is timeless, so that we don’t get tired of it after a few years.
Please note that there would always be different trends that will flood the internet, but I believe that you should not replace the covering of your bathroom according to every passing trend. Of course, if you liked the trend and you think you won’t get tired of it, and you believe that you will continue to love it even after a few years, then go for it. A good example of a trend that has swept many people after it is the painted tiles. I personally really like to add interest to the bathroom, and the painted tiles are an easy solution that does the job. It is important to carefully choose the print on the tile, and choose the right size, so that the print does not tire you after a few years. If you choose to combine painted tiles in the bathroom, do not be lazy and look for the perfect tile that will create the perfect atmosphere. Another way to design a simple bathroom is using the white tiles with the facets that we all know. They usually come in a size of 7.5/15. The cost of the tiles is not expensive and you can say that these tiles are timeless and give the necessary effect in the space.
So, what do we do with these tiles?
- We cover the bathroom to a height of 1.15/1.20 m2. If there is a shower or bathtub, we cover it to a height of 2.00 m2.
- After putting up the tiles, we will paint the rest of the wall to the ceiling in an interesting shade that will upgrade the entire appearance of the bathroom, and add interest and life to it. You can choose a regular color from the color fan of the various companies or a color with an interesting texture. In the case before you, I chose to combine the color with a velvety appearance with a light blue shade.
Color will always come as a cheap and practical solution that can be changed whenever you feel like it. If you ever get tired of the color, you can always paint over it with a different shade and get a new and different look in the bathroom.
- After we’ve painted the bathroom, we will place a decorative cornice above the tiles throughout the bathroom. The cornice creates a design partition between the painted wall and the tiles.
- After painting the wall in the chosen color, the next step is to gather accessories in the same color and scatter them around the bathroom.
For anyone who is afraid of painting walls, another option that always works is to design the bathroom with black and white tiles and give the design touch using the color of the bathroom cabinet.
You can choose an unconventional color and apply it to the bathroom cabinet; the cabinet will boost the appearance of the bathroom and add interest to the space.
If you are a conservative person who tends to be afraid of a dominant color and therefore do not go wild in the design of central spaces such as the living room or kitchen, designing the bathroom is an excellent opportunity for you to be more daring.
