How to design an apartment in Tel Aviv for 50K NIS!

He is a client who has an apartment in Tel Aviv and wants to turn it into an Airbnb apartment.

His budget is limited and he doesn’t want to spend tens of thousands of NIS on the design. It’s important to him that it looks good and is practical.

He received my mobile phone with a warm recommendation.

He called me and told me that you are a designer and that you know your job, I want you to design my apartment with a minimum investment but that it looks great!

He also asked me if I had experience designing Airbnb apartments, I told him that not too much, I have previously done an apartment like this for a client in Eilat with a limited budget.

And I don’t see much difference between him and another client.

Ultimately, I design houses for clients and most of them have a limited budget and they all want their house to look beautiful and be practical.😊

How was the design of the apartment done?

He sent me pictures and a video of the apartment, I told him that I could design the apartment for him in two days of DesignQuick.

One day for the main space, two days for the rooms and for the furnishings.

I arrived in Tel Aviv, it’s a 3-room apartment, in a central area, some of the furniture already exists, like some of the closets that were in the rooms.

But I had to buy all the other furniture.

Beds, dining area, lighting, carpets, tables, chairs, furnishings. Everything!

I made a work plan, with a detailed shopping list for the items that needed to be bought, I got credit from the client and went on a shopping trip alone, knowing that the client trusted me.

It was important for the client to have several options for sleeping in the apartment. Therefore, we chose a sofa that opens and is relatively comfortable to be in the living room. It’s not the height of beauty, but it answered our need. A classic gray sofa.

We created another place to sleep in a niche that existed in one of the rooms, in case a family comes with a child.

My specialty is the combination of colors in space, I really like to combine color with the walls, sometimes it is what makes the whole space pop and it is not something that requires a lot of investment, this time I chose to combine a smoky blue color in the central space. I combined it with the wall in the living room and the other in the kitchen is color ntc050 Nirlat.

In the rest of the space design, I chose neutral shades such as black and white, the carpentry in oak wood and classic black.

We upholstered the armchair that already existed in the apartment with a mustard-colored fabric from Schechter that makes the whole appearance of the living room pop.

Above the dining table, I chose to combine a rattan light fixture from IKEA, which adds to the atmosphere and gives a homely feeling.

My client really loves art and wanted to have all kinds of pictures and posters from the world of cinema, you can see scattered pictures throughout the apartment, CDs, art, design items related to the world of cinema.

In the guest bathroom, I did not touch the existing furniture, the only thing I did to upgrade the appearance of the bathroom was to paint the walls above the ceramics, including the ceiling, in a green shade Ntc078 Nirlat.

I added accessories to match the shade, replaced the lighting and thus easily upgraded the existing bathroom with minimal investment.

In the master bedroom, I chose to combine botanical wallpaper with green leaves, which conveys calm and gives the touches of color I wanted.

I chose to make a curtain that spills to the floor in the central window of the room, to create interest, I chose to add a green curtain on the sides that will correspond with the green wallpaper and give a frame to the entire room, I added a classic gray bed from IKEA, chests of drawers on each side, small and classic side lamps.

A green desk from IKEA in perfect harmony with the green shades.

Central lighting from a key that fits the design and of course I added a rug that adds a lot of warmth to the room.

In the second bedroom, we had to think of another creative solution for a bed.

We created another bed in the existing niche that was next to the closet. I chose to paint this niche in a turquoise shade.

A spot of color that makes all the difference in the room. I created a cube of color. I delimited the bed area by painting both the ceiling and the surrounding walls.

Cube color 0689 Nirlat.

We ordered a padded mattress with decorative pillows that would fit perfectly into the niche. Above, I combined black wooden shelves from IKEA with a collection of CDs.

The room is furnished, with a double bed, a classic chest of drawers for storage with a lamp above that adds interest, a carpet always adds to the design and central straw lighting.

But what makes the room unique is the color spot of the painted niche, without which the design would not look the same.

In home design, it is not wise to design a house for hundreds of thousands of NIS. The wisdom is to know how to design spaces with a limited budget.

Working with a limited budget is not an easy job, but it is completely possible and you can achieve very beautiful results.

It requires experience, working with a budget, getting to know the many design stores on the market, it is knowing how to prioritize what is better than what and what is worth investing more in. Money.

That’s exactly what I did here, and that’s my specialty.

Designing houses with minimal time and money.
