The international color company Pantone has chosen the color of the year for 2017, which is expected to conquer our homes during the coming year. And I am happy to say: I said it first.
The chosen color that will conquer the world of design. Are you ready? Green-yellow is expected to bring nature into every corner of the home this year. It is an apple green shade – “Greenery” and its exact number is 15-0343
It combines a kind of yellowness that makes it look like fresh and especially bright green and thus, also provides a good transmission of color to everyone near it.
In home design, we tend to play it safe and use mainly familiar and safe colors such as black, white, cream and gray. Not that this is wrong, but what’s wrong with a little daring, you can dare and use happy colors such as red, yellow, purple, orange and green and add joy of life in various details in the home.
Choosing a dominant color during home design
If you have difficulty adding a dominant color to a space, you can use it in small touches, for example – in decorative pillows for the living room, upholstery for chairs in the dining area, kitchen accessories, rugs and more. I personally tend to be daring and that’s how I first encountered the color “Pistachio green” and simply fell in love. It started when I wanted to upgrade the look of the kitchen and chose to do so through the bar stools. I had to take into account that I needed to choose a color that would match the African wood used as a bar table, and that the color I chose would not be too dominant because the kitchen doors are covered in a light wood texture and also have a champagne-colored peel. After debating whether to play it safe and choose wooden chairs and close the story, I preferred to dare and add color and it was clear to me that pistachio green would be the best fit and so I began the journey to find the perfect chair. I started by touring a variety of leading chains but very quickly realized that the color needs to be chosen carefully. And that’s how I ended up on Hertzel Street in Tel Aviv. After wandering around, I found the right store and carefully chose my favorite color from Tambour’s color palette and here is the result.
A living room with a modern look, tends to be classic and not cluttered, and the use of solid colors stands out. In this living room, I decided to diversify and combine the two, adding two armchairs with different colors that enliven the atmosphere
Decorative pillows always upgrade and complement the atmosphere, here you can see the use of green, yellow and cream pillows that blend in with the pictures behind and the pistachio chairs in the background.
Color adds a lot and can work wonders even if it is just a simple sofa, and a suitable rug will complete the look.
And as I already told you, I have already fallen in love with pistachio green and I define it as the new black, and here is a selection of items that can be added to every corner of the house and revive the atmosphere.
